Please support the 2019 IPODERAC’S Children Fund (ICF) Scholarship campaign.
ICF is raising $22,000 to fund 12 full scholarships for young people living at IPODERAC in Atlixco, Mexico. These young people completed their high school and are pursuing advanced education to acquire the academic knowledge and job skills to help them be self-sufficient, live independently, and lead productive lives.
Each scholarship covers the costs for these young people to attend university or technical school while living at IPODERACand includes tuition, books, transportation, and supplies. Past scholarship recipients studied Engineering, Business Administration, Tourism, Technology, Culinary Arts, and General Education allowing them to move into rewarding careers.
IPODERAC provides a safe and supportive home for neglected and abandoned children in Atlixco, Mexico. For over 50 years IPODERAC was able to care for up 72 boys at a time. During the past year, two houses home to 24 girls (8 are attending secondary school) opened with four more homes planned for construction.
As IPODERAC grows so will our efforts to expand ICF’s scholarship program. Current scholarship recipients include 12 boys. One of these boys, Gabriel, is 16 years old and attending Benteler technical school preparing for a career in the automotive industry. Gabriel and his brother were placed at IPODERAC five years ago. Living on the streets taught Gabriel to be resilient and proactive. He is a curious and eager learner, especially when it comes to the use of mechanical tools and management of work processes.
Thank you for your support for our Annual Scholarship Campaign.
With our greatest appreciation,
